Embark on a journey through the vibrant tapestry of South Africa with us, a nation adorned with breathtaking landscapes, diverse cultures, and rich natural wonders. This solo traveller adventure will lead us through the dynamic city of Cape Town, one of the country's capital gems. Ascend Table Mountain via cable car for panoramic views, delve into the history of Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. No South African odyssey is complete without a safari, and in Aquila Private Game Reserve, we may encounter the famed 'Big 5'. Our route leads us along the Garden Route, treating us to the awe-inspiring Outeniqua Mountain Pass and the wildlife wonders of Featherbed Nature Reserve. A grand finale awaits in Stellenbosch, where we indulge in the art of wine tasting.

Travel To Cape Town South Africa

We begin our adventure as we depart for Cape Town.

We Have Arrived In Cape Town

Cape Town Highlights & Table Mountain

On arrival in Cape Town, we meet with our local guide and transfer by coach to our hotel. After we uncover some of Cape Town’s highlights.  Let the holiday begin!

Table Mountain Tour & Dinner

Let's visit to one of South Africa’s most famous and iconic landmarks, Table Mountain (weather permitting). During a short cable car ride up the mountain, we take in spectacular views of Cape Town, and on a clear day we can see as far as False Bay, including Robben Island and the Devil's Peak. Next, we discover the vibrant cultures and history of this city on a guided tour taking in the Malay Quarter, Green Market Square, District Six and a walk through the Company Gardens. After, we enjoy a scenic city tour passing the Houses of Parliament, City Hall, and a visit to Cape Castle, one of the oldest surviving buildings in South Africa.

This evening, let’s get together and enjoy a welcome dinner at a nearby local restaurant or in your hotel. Your guide will advise locally.

Experience A "Big 5" Safari At Aquila Game Reserve

Get ready to experience an African safari! We transfer in the morning to Aquila Private Game Reserve for our safari experience. The reserve is home to a variety of game, including the "Big 5":  lion, buffalo, leopard, rhino, and elephant.

Before we discover the big 5 we savour some lunch (included) at Aquila.

Fall in love with Africa’s wildlife! Cameras ready for action,  as we experience an African safari in our open safari vehicle.  Let's sit back, relax and soak up the majestic scenery in search of animals, the safari will take approximately two hours.  

After our drive we return back to Cape Town city, and the rest of the evening is at leisure to relax more after our adventure.

Discover Robben Island On An Excursion

Let's experience more as we set off on another adventure.  Weather permitting, we catch the boat from the Victoria & Alfred waterfront, out to Robben Island famed for where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, approximately 90 minutes away.

Robben Island is located almost 7km off the coast in Table Bay. Today the island is a UNESCO world heritage site and a living museum, welcoming thousands of visitors every year. Uncover the dark history of this prison on a guided tour of the island and museum, before returning to the mainland.

We enjoy the afternoon at leisure to further explore Cape. Our expert guide will be happy to tell us of further places of interest.

 

Later we get together for an authentic African dinner and entertainment tonight, at a local restaurant (included).

Boulders Beach, Penguins And Cape Point

Cape Point Guided Excursion

Today we experience more on a full day guided excursion to the Cape Peninsula, and take in more of the beautiful scenery. We travel along the Atlantic seaboard with its white beaches and rugged mountains to Hout Bay. If open, we continue to Chapman’s Peak Drive, renowned as one of the most scenic roadways in the world.

Let's see more with a stop at Cape Point Nature Reserve; the tip of the Cape Peninsula that has captivated people for centuries with its dramatic scenery.

As we make our way back to Cape Town, we drive along the False Bay coast, with the option of visiting the colony of rare African Penguins at Boulders beach. We will also pass through the naval village of Simon's Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg.

Lunch is included today.

Enjoy a final evening in Cape Town at leisure.

Depart Cape Town And Transfer To Arniston

Transfer By Coach To Arniston

We pack our bags and depart Cape Town by coach and transfer to the tranquil little fishing village of Arniston (approximately 216km). Arniston is also known as Waenhuiskrans ("wagon shelter cliff"), a low tide sea cave resembling the structures used by settlers to house their oxen and wagons.  This picturesque seaside village, Arniston is an attraction for artists, and photographers for its rolling sand dunes, blue sea, and cliffs.

We arrive in the late afternoon, let's settle in before getting to know our surroundings. The coastline is a perfect invitation for a long walk and photography.

Excursion To Hermanus

This morning we transfer by coach to Hermanus.  Along the way we will have the opportunity to stop at Cape Agulhas Lighthouse ( for 2024), situated at the southernmost tip of Africa. Hermanus is rich in scenic beauty and is one of the whale-watching capitals of the world, with sightings most common from June to October.  Enjoy some free time to explore the town’s attractions, including a selection of galleries, fashion boutiques, jewellery shops and (subject to opening hours) the Old Harbour Museum, with informative displays and a suspended skeleton of a whale.

Lunch is included today.

In the late afternoon we return by coach back to Arniston after discovering the highlights of Hermanus.

Transfer By Coach To Knysna

This morning we depart Arniston and transfer to the coastal town of Knysna, taking in spectacular mountain sights while driving through the Outeniqua Mountain Pass (approximately 392km).

Let's experience more on this scenic drive with photo and rest stops along the way, for this full day transfer; sit back relax and soak up the scenery.

Knysna is one of the Southern Cape coast's best-known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the lagoon. The mouth of the lagoon is guarded by two promontories known as 'The Heads'.

Featherbed Nature Reserve Excursion

Let's experience more of fascinating Knysna with a visit to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where we will travel by ferry across the Knysna Lagoon. The reserve lies on the unspoilt western head of Knysna and we will travel in 4x4 vehicles to see heavenly views plus beautiful flora and fauna. For those with a bit of energy there is the option to take a downhill walk; don't forget to bring your camera and good sturdy walking shoes.  We savour more, with a buffet lunch out underneath a canopy of Milkwood trees. Lunch is included today.

After our guided excursion, we return to our hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.

Note: Please note your visit to the Featherbed Nature Reserve is subject to weather conditions.  If possible, another attempt will be made and/or an alternative excursion organised.  Our guide will reconfirm the arrangements locally.

On our guided tour we discover the well-known town of Stellenbosch, not far from Franschhoek, with its tree lined streets and historical architecture. We uncover more about this picturesque town during a visit to the Stellenbosch Museum, with exhibits representing different periods of the town’s history.

After, we enjoy some free time for lunch (not included) before we uncover more of this spellbinding region.

Fly From Cape Town To Dubai

We say a fond farewell to South Africa as we transfer to Cape Town and fly to Dubai.

We have arrived in Dubai.  You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Spend three nights in Dubai on a bed and breakfast basis.

Experience Dubai at your leisure for the next two full days. Enjoy an independent stay in Dubai, a cosmopolitan city where the traditional and contemporary meet. There is much to discover in Dubai from Mosques, shopping, and the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city, or you could relax on the beach.
