This holiday will take us on a journey along some of the most incredible coastal roads, through breath taking mountains and into picturesque towns and villages. We’ll explore the bustling metropolis of Boston; enjoy the kaleidoscope of stunning colours in the White Mountains and soak in the stunning coastal scenery of Cape Cod. Staying in centrally located, hand-picked hotels, we will be accompanied throughout this 9-night holiday by your guide who will share their local knowledge and show you the best places to eat, shop, sight-see and relax, all set against the backdrop of falling Autumn leaves and stunning colonial architecture.

Depart today for our flight to Boston where we will be met on arrival by our expert guide who will accompany us on our transfer to our hotel.

This morning join us on a city tour as we follow our guide along the famous Freedom Trail through historic Downtown Boston. Highlights include Faneuil Hall, Beacon Hill, Back Bay, Copley Square and the scenic Waterfront District. We will also visit Boston’s sister city, Cambridge, home to the prestigious Harvard University.

The remainder of today is free to explore Boston at your own pace – perhaps enjoy some sightseeing, shopping or a relaxing stroll through this vibrant city.

Time to explore more! Today we travel to the historic Pilgrim Town of Plymouth to view Plymouth Rock and visit Plimouth Plantation, a recreated 17th century Pilgrim Village and working museum. Our next visit is to the Historic Patuxet Homesite, a Native American village showcasing the life and culture of the Wampanoag people, who have lived in this region for over 12,000 years. Later this afternoon we transfer to our hotel in Cape Cod.

Our day begins with a scenic drive through the windswept dunes of Cape Cod to the tip of the peninsula—Provincetown, affectionately known as P-Town. Contrary to popular belief, this is where the Pilgrims first landed! We’ll visit the Pilgrim Monument, a 252-foot tower commemorating their arrival. Enjoy free time to wander among Provincetown’s eclectic mix of boutiques, galleries, and seaside cafés before returning to our hotel.

Following breakfast we say goodbye to Cape Cod and board our coach for a visit to the quintessential New England village of Concord where the “shot that was heard around the world” was fired, marking the start of the Revolutionary War. We will stroll through history at Minuteman National Historic Park and walk in the footsteps of the Minute Men & Redcoats as we cross the Old North Bridge, all in the beautiful setting of a New England Fall.
Later, we journey into the scenic White Mountains of New Hampshire and settle into our hotel in North Conway.

Today’s adventure takes us to Crawford Notch State Park, where we’ll board the legendary Mount Washington Cog Railway. Ride a powerful biodiesel locomotive (formerly coal-powered) on a thrilling climb up gradients as steep as 38% to the summit of Mount Washington—the highest peak in the Northeast. From the top, enjoy sweeping views of New England’s dazzling fall foliage. Finally, we experience an exhilarating journey back down to the base of Mount Washington in the capable hands of our Brakeman.
We return to our hotel in North Conway for a relaxing afternoon.

We begin our ‘Leaf Peeping’ day as we travel further into the White Mountains of New Hampshire following the Kancamagus Scenic Byway through the wonderful autumn colours New England is famous for. The “Kanc”, as it is referred to by the locals, takes us along a route cute through the White Mountain National Forest with breathtaking views of the White Mountains, Swift River, Sabbaday Falls, Lower Falls and Rocky Gorge.
In the afternoon, we cross into Vermont’s Green Mountains and stop at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Sample fresh apple cider, warm cider donuts or some rich maple syrup before continuing to Burlington, where we’ll spend the next two nights.

Another wonderful day awaits us in the cool weather of Autumn in New England. Today we board the Ethan Allen II for a scenic luncheon cruise on Lake Champlain, offering panoramic views of Vermont’s fall foliage. In the afternoon, we visit the Shelburne Museum, a unique open-air museum featuring over 20 historic buildings, American folk art, quilts, and fascinating exhibits from New England’s past.
We return to our Burlington hotel for a restful evening.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to New England and transfer to Boston Airport, with comfort stops included, for our overnight flight home.
