A Lake Garda winter holiday, where we’ll be surrounded by a scenic mountain backdrop and combined with the Christmas festivities, is a truly magical experience in Italy. Travel with us to Lake Garda renowned for its magnificent landscape rich culture and intriguing past. History enthusiasts will enjoy exploring the quaint medieval villages that dot the lake and there are many attractions of both historical and cultural significance to visit in the region. On this fantastic 5-night tour, we’ll have plenty of time to soak up the relaxing, tranquil atmosphere of Lake Garda. We will also enjoy full-day excursions to explore the enchanting warren of canals and squares that make up the city of Venice and the charming UNESCO World Heritage Site of Verona, where we can do some shopping at their wonderful Christmas markets.
Please Note: High water tides occasionally occur in Venice during the winter months. In the event of inclement conditions, your local guide may substitute the excursion to Venice with an alternative full-day excursion instead.

Travel to Italy
Transfer to Lake Garda
Upon arrival in Italy, you will be met in the arrivals area of the airport by our local representative who will accompany you to your hotel, located in the beautiful town of Riva del Garda. As you travel to your hotel, your guide will share some information about the local region, suggest activities for you to enjoy and answer any questions you may have.
Guided Tour of Venice
Today you will explore the enchanting warren of canals, quaint alleys and busy squares that make up the fascinating city of Venice. Known as 'La Serenissima' or The most Serene, Venice is a prized jewel in Italy's glorious crown. In Venice you will witness famous landmarks such as the bustling St. Mark's Square, the stunning Gothic building of Ca’ d’Oro, and the imposing marble Palazzo Ducale. Admire 16th and 17th art in the Gallera Franchetti or take a photograph on the Ponte di Rialto. You will also have free time to explore the numerous piazzas, bridges and dwellings that adorn the quaysides of Venice's extensive network of canals.
Visit Verona Christmas Markets
Today you will travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Verona to visit the magical Christmas Markets. Verona hosts a traditional German styled Christmas market in the central Piazza dei Signori selling handmade Christmas goods, local food and drinks. From mulled wine to apple fritters and apple juice to strudel, you will be spoiled for choice.

Today will be free for shopping and sightseeing of your choice. Speak with your guide the previous day to see what they would recommend for you to do today.

Explore Lake Garda at Your Own Pace
Today will be spent at leisure. Enjoy some time to relax and perhaps take a stroll along the lakeshore, or visit one of the neighbouring towns and villages, easily reached by public transport. Enjoy a coffee or a drink in the open air and admire the spectacular Lake Garda views.
Time to say farewell to Lake Garda - until the next time! Depart by coach from your hotel to the airport, with guide assistance, for your flight home.

Will I be met at the airport?
You will be met on arrival at your destination airport and transferred to your accommodation. You will be accompanied on all included excursions by your Travel Department guide. Your expert local guide is also available to give you tips and advice on any aspect of your holiday.
