On our holiday to India, we’ll take the Golden Triangle route and experience the exciting cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. On this 14-night holiday, we’ll explore some of the country’s most famed landmarks and architectural marvels. We will visit ancient palaces and monuments, proud fortresses, mosques and bustling cities. Take a rickshaw ride in Old Delhi’s bustling streets and awaken your senses on a kaleidoscope of colour and sound in its buzzing markets. On an excursion to Agra, we will gaze in wonder at the most famous monument to love, the Taj Mahal. We’ll also visit the Amber Fort in the Pink City of Jaipur and, of course, have plenty of leisure time to discover the highlights of India at your own pace. Combining beautiful architecture, delicious food, friendly people and captivating culture, India’s Golden Triangle really does have it all. After our trip of a lifetime in India, you will then enjoy a three-night stay in Dubai, where you can see all the sights or simply relax at your own leisure.

*In order to preserve the beauty and integrity of the iconic monument, the Taj Mahal, cleaning and restoration work is ongoing at this site. Some phases of the restoration involve scaffolding and mud treatment,  thus a clear view of the entire monument may not be possible.

Discover Delhi Highlights

Half Day Excursion Of New Delhi

On arrival in Delhi, we meet our local representative in the airport before being transferred to our hotel in Delhi.

Let's experience some of the highlights of Delhi,  (pending our flight times this excursion may be the following day) we begin with a half day tour including Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret, before visiting the fascinating Humayun’s Tomb, a beautiful 16th century building and the tomb of the Emperor Humayun.

Time to relax and unwind after our adventure.

Later we get together and enjoy dinner at our hotel.

Evening meals are included for the nine nights stay in India. Eight nights in our hotels and one night cooking demonstration in Jaipur with dinner included.

Let's See More Of Delhi & Transfer to Jaipur

Experience Old Delhi On An Excursion

After breakfast we experience the sights and sounds of bustling Old Delhi, beginning with a cycle rickshaw ride through the city.  After our ride, we visit Raj Ghat, the memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi, and see an eternal flame burning at the spot of his cremation.  Next we pass the Jama Masjid Mosque (viewed from the outside) and visit the Bangla Sikh Temple. There will hopefully be time to pick up some souvenirs and local bargains at the bustling and colourful market of Chandni Chowk before transferring to the pink city of Jaipur. The transfer to Jaipur will take around six and a half hours (270km) with a few comfort stops along the way.

Jaipur - Discover The Amber Fort & Village

Let's see more of the Golden Triangle on our full day tour of Jaipur. We take in the raw beauty of the Amber Fort, perched on a hill overlooking the Maota Lake. The terraces and ramparts of the Fort are reflected beautifully in the lake below, displaying a marvellous example of Rajput architecture.  After lunch (included) we enjoy a walking tour, to discover Amber village and meet some of the locals on our walk.

Discover Jaipur The Pink City & Cooking Demonstration

Jaipur And City Palace Museum

Enjoy a morning visit to the City Palace Museum to see the beautiful former seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Discover the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar sundial, and finally see the iconic Hawa Mahal, also known as the ‘Palace of Winds.’  

After our excursion we enjoy a some time at leisure.

Savour Indian Cuisine - Cookery Demonstration

In the evening, we visit a local family for a  cookery demonstration. We learn the art of making local Indian dishes, bread making, and afterwards enjoy a group dinner.

Transfer to Dolphur & Discover Fatehpur Sikri

This morning we depart Jaipur and transfer by coach to Dolphur. En-route we make a stop and discover the fascinating deserted red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri , the journey will take approximately seven hours (270km) with comfort stops. The deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri was built by the mighty Emperor Akbar in 1569, in honour of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesied the birth of three sons. We uncover more about this city on a guided tour.

Today is a new experience as we take a half day guided tour to Gwalior Fort. It was once a place that was regarded as central and northern India's most impregnable fortress! Next we discover the Gujari Mahal Museum. It was once home and palace to a fussy princess, the Gujari Mahal Museum was built by Raja Man Singh for his wife Mrignayani, after she demanded a separate palace for herself! She was a royal after all and one would not expect less.

Transfer to Agra and Fall In Love With The Taj Mahal

This morning we enjoy a half day excursion to visit the Gharial Conservation Alliance, a hatchery for reptiles like gharials, crocodiles and turtles, we discover more about this conservation alliance before making our way to experience the Machkund Temple in Dolphur, and an important pilgrim stronghold for Hindus.

Later we depart by coach and transfer to Agra, home to the iconic and majestic Taj Mahal. The journey will take approximately two hours drive.

Let's experience sunset in Agra, at the monumental magnificence, the Taj Mahal! We take in the splendour, and beauty of the world’s biggest monuments to love as we watch the sun set over the Taj Mahal. The evening is one of the best times to photograph this spectacular building, when the lighting is at its most dramatic. This famous mausoleum was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, and is one of the many highlights for visitors to India, it is easy to see why.

This morning see more on a guided tour of the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the finest Mughal forts in India. Built in the 11th century, era marked by invasions and battles, this red stone-fortified castle was the site of the India Rebellion of 1857. Take a moment to soak up the scenery and look upon the Taj Mahal in the distance, and the Yamuna river flowing next to it.

Depart Agra And Transfer By Coach To Delhi

We say farewell to our newfound friends and fond memories of our journey in the Golden Triangle of India. We transfer to Delhi airport for our flight to Dubai.

Arrive in Dubai

On arrival in Dubai you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Spend the next three nights in Dubai on a bed and breakfast basis.

 

*Please note: Your extension in Dubai will be on an individual basis rather than as part of a group and that guide services are not included for this part of the tour.
