Your Guided Group Holiday To Cuba
Discover Cuba’s unique culture and beautiful scenery with us on this 11-night guided holiday. On this break, we’ll walk the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway and see the island that inspired much of his writing. In Old Havana, we’ll travel by vintage car through streets lined with baroque and neoclassical buildings. Another excursion will bring us on the ‘Tobacco Route’ in the west of the island, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet a traditional ‘veguero’ (tobacco farmer). Our holiday will conclude in the coastal area of Varadero where you can relax on the pristine beaches. Our superb local guides will be delighted to share their in-depth knowledge of Cuba throughout. With beautiful weather, friendly locals and a rich history, Cuba is the Caribbean destination that has it all.

Travel to Havana Cuba
Depart for Havana
Depart for your holiday to Cuba. Upon arrival in Havana you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your Havana hotel, where you will spend the next five nights.
Breakfast is included on each day of your stay.

Half Day Guided Excursion to Colonial Havana
After breakfast enjoy a half-day guided walking tour of the colonial city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built in Baroque and Neoclassical style, Old Havana is truly a fascinating place to explore. During this tour we will see the Museo Capitanes Generales and the Plaza Vieja. From here you will visit the 18th century Cuban Baroque-style Palace of the Generals and the fortress of Castillo de la Real Fuerza. Along the way, see some of Ernest Hemingway’s old haunts, like the Bodeguita del Medio. Enjoy a special Daiquiri in one of Hemingway's favourite hangouts, the El Floridita bar, which features a life-size bronze statue of the famous writer.
At leisure & dinner in Old Havana
The afternoon is yours at leisure to further immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Havana’s streets, plazas and avenues and explore at your own pace, before gathering with the group for dinner in Old Havana.
Dinner is included tonight at a local restaurant.
Visit Finca Vigia, Cojimar and Morro - Cabana
Begin the day with a half-day excursion to places that inspired Ernest Hemingway. We will visit the writer’s home, Finca Vigía, where he wrote For Whom the Bell Tolls in the 1930s. From here you will head out to the fishing village of Cojimar, which was the backdrop for The Old Man and the Sea. Enjoy a cocktail (included) at a local bar before visiting the 17th century Morro-Cabana, the largest fortress constructed by the Spanish in the New World. Lunch is included today.
Vintage Car Journey & Dinner
In the afternoon, we feel the wind in our hair and a welcome breeze, on a guided excursion of 1950’s Havana, in a vintage classic car. Cruising in our car we take in the fascinating scenery of Revolution Square, the Malecon and the famous Hotel Nacional, including a stop at this landmark hotel. After our classic car experience, relax and enjoy dinner (included) at a local restaurant.
Pinar del Río - The Tobacco Land
Full Day Guided Excursion to Pinar del Río
Today there will be a full day excursion to the province of Pinar del Río. Travel the "tobacco route" to the western part of the island, taking in a panoramic tour through Viñales Valley, also including a stop at the lookout point "Los Jazmines".
Afterwards, walk down to an underground river through the cave "Cueva del Indio" and continue by small motorboat. With its hanging vines and rocky wall surfaces, this extraordinary river region looks like it came straight out of a film. Inside the cave, see the ‘Prehistoric Wall,’ complete with a huge mural depicting the history of evolution.
Also included today is a visit to "Casa del Veguero", a tobacco farm, viewing the tobacco fields and drying house.
Lunch in the afternoon and dinner this evening are included.

Free time to explore Havana
Today, take some time to explore Havana at your own pace. Stroll through the colourful streetscapes and admire the colonial architecture, take some photos and enjoy the unique flavour of this lively and captivating city.
Transfer to Varadero
Scenic Rail Journey
After breakfast we transfer to the Hershey Train depot, where we will board the Hershey’s Electric Train for a scenic rail journey through beautiful Cuban landscape. Enjoy a tour of the village of Hershey, named after the American chocolate king, where we will learn about the sugar cane industry, before enjoying refreshments in the Gardens of Hershey. Lunch is included today.
Transfer to Varadero
Later, transfer onwards to the beach destination of Varadero. This will be your base for the next four nights, with a hotel stay on an all-inclusive basis (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and locally produced drinks included each day).
The total journey time today is 190km, including 100km from Hershey to Varadero (approximately 90 minutes).

Enjoy a free day, to relax at your hotel and get to know your splendid beachside surroundings. Our local representative will offer an information briefing at the hotel, so that you can learn about the activities on offer in and around Varadero.
Rio Canimar Tour
Boat trip and Rio Canimar
Today’s excursion is to Rio Canimar. After breakfast, transfer from your hotel for a boat trip, sailing upstream for an hour while enjoying the pristine nature of Cuba. As we sail along, we will see lush green shores, crystal waters, mangroves, flora and fauna and different species of birds, like the Cuban Spoonbill and parrot which are native to these areas.
After the cruise there will be a typical Cuban lunch (included), with free time to relax, perhaps take a swim or further explore the area.
Later in the afternoon, transfer back to the hotel where the rest of your evening is at leisure.
Free Time in Varadero
Sit back, relax by the beach, savour the moment with the white sands, blue waters and warm weather. Take time for some final shopping or embark on a further sightseeing adventure of your choice.
Transfer to Havana by Coach
Transfer to Havana
This morning we depart Varadero and travel by coach along the panoramic coastal road back to Havana, for a final memorable night in Cuba.
Havana - Afternoon at Leisure
Enjoy your last afternoon in Havana, soaking up the sights and sounds of this vibrant city. Stroll along the Malecón, walk through Revolution Square, or revisit one of Hemingway’s favourite drinking spots.
Return Home via Toronto
Toronto City Tour
Today we say goodbye to Cuba and transfer with guide assistance to Havana Airport for your return flight (via Toronto).
On arrival in Toronto, you will be greeted by your local guide who will accompany you on a tour by coach, giving an overview of some of Toronto’s most famous landmarks. Time permitting, there will also be an opportunity for some independent sightseeing and shopping in the city.
After the tour we transfer back to Toronto Airport, for your overnight flight home.

Arrive home, after a memorable journey through the highlights of Cuba on your overnight flight.
