Visit some of the most beautiful Gardens of West Cork with us and enjoy a short break in the Rebel County. Our hotel will be based in Bantry, a busy market town and fishing port, at the head of the legendary Bantry Bay. Our garden holiday will begin at Kinalea Garden, home to a collection of rare trees and shrubs including a woodland garden. We’ll explore the stately home of Bantry House located on the Wild Atlantic Way, which offers fantastic views over Bantry Bay. We’ll discover Blarney Castle Gardens, home to the famous Blarney Stone. This tour offers an opportunity to experience some of the loveliest gardens in West Cork, each garden we will visit has its own collection of unique plants, whilst experiencing some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland.

Meet with our guide, Iain Mac Donald, in Kent Station in Cork and depart by coach for Bantry.
Kinalea Garden & Pinetree Lodge Garden
Visit to Kinalea Garden which has a collection of rare trees and shrubs including a woodland garden. In the front garden there is a rockery of ferns, heathers and grasses. In the centre of the rear lawn there is a curved scree Alpine Rockery. This echoes the shape of the highlight of the garden, which is the colourful perennial border with a cottage garden feel. The nearby sunken zen patio offers a collection of tropical plants & trees. We also visit Pine Tree Lodge Garden en route to the hotel, a one acre garden, an open and windy site but south facing and frost free where native and exotic plants grow happily together. Transfer to our hotel where we dine together as a group each evening.
Bantry House & Garden, Glengarriff & Garnish Island
Guided Tour of the Bantry House & Gardens and Glengarriff
Our first visit today is to Bantry House and Gardens for a guided tour of the house before visiting this wonderful garden; highlights include the Italianate Garden, the 'Hundred Steps' and the magnificent views over the bay. We then travel to Glengarriff where there is free time for lunch and a wander.
We take a short boat journey to Ilnacullin (Garnish) – this small island renowned for its beautiful garden. The formal Italianate and walled gardens are surrounded by a wild garden, which blends into the sea and mountain scenery.
Carraig Abhainn Gardens & Kilvarock Gardens
Visit Carraig Abhainn
This morning enjoy some time for a leisurely breakfast or stroll around Bantry. Depart mid-morning to visit Carraig Abhainn in Durrus and enjoy a guided tour by the owner around this lovely garden, which is enhanced by a river and natural waterfalls and a wide variety of plants.
Guided Tour of the Kilvarock Gardens
Free time for lunch at your leisure in Durrus before visiting our final garden of the day - Kilvarock - for a guided tour through this two acre terraced garden which overlooks Dunmanus Bay containing a collection of rare plants from both the Northern and Southern hemispheres.
Blarney Castle Gardens & Return Home
Private Garden Visit and Blarney Castle Gardens
Check out of our hotel and depart for a visit to a private garden in Carrignavar and Blarney Castle Gardens where the herbaceous borders and shrubberies provide a splendid display of colour and structure at this time of year. It also has a Poisonous Garden, Fern & Ice House, Bog Garden and Arboretum.
Return to Cork, Kent Station
Free time for lunch in Blarney before transferring to Kent Station in the early afternoon.
