Arrive in Lisbon
We have arrived in Lisbon where we meet our local representative. Let’s see the capital with a panoramic coach tour of the city’s highlights before our transfer to our hotel in Évora.
This evening let’s get together with our fellow travellers for dinner at our hotel.
Let’s meet our guide! This morning we will have a brief welcome meeting at our hotel, to receive local information and holiday tips from our expert guide.
Walking tour of Évora
Join us for a walking tour around the old town of Évora including highlights such as St. Francisco Church, the Bones Chapel, Diana´s Temple and Évora’s Cathedral. Évora is a UNESCO World Heritage site, due to its well-preserved old town centre and is still partially enclosed by medieval walls.
This morning is free for independent exploration or relaxation before we meet our guide in the afternoon.
Visit to a Winery
This afternoon let’s taste more on a guided tour to a local winery where we will visit the vineyard followed by some a wine tasting. Cheers!
Excursion to Alqueva
Today let’s go for a full day excursion with our first stop at Lake Alqueva, one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe, built on the River Guadiana. We will pass through Aldeia da Luz, the only village to be submerged by the dam waters, and which had to be relocated and rebuilt maintaining the characteristics of the old village.
Our next visit is to the historic medieval village of Monsaraz which won the category “Monument Villages” in 2017. We will have some free time for lunch at our leisure in the quiet waterfront village of Amieira.
This afternoon, let’s experience more, with a peaceful boat trip on Lake Alqueva before returning to our hotel.
Transfer to Tavira
This morning we check out of our hotel in Évora for our journey South toward the coast. En-route we will stop in Beja for an included lunch before continuing onwards to our hotel in Tavira.
Walking tour of Tavira
This morning let’s discover more with a walking tour around Tavira, one of the most beautiful towns of the Algarve, where we will find a unique mix of traditional architecture with Moorish influences. The town has the reputation of being the Venice of the Algarve, due to its location near the estuary of the river Gilão. That is why many people find this historic town with picturesque places and cobbled streets one of the most beautiful towns in the Algarve.
This afternoon is free for sightseeing or relaxing at our hotel. Our expert guide will be happy to provide advice and suggestions for the best local sights and activities.
Free time in the Algarve
Today is free to relax and take in some further sightseeing. Discover more of the local area, spend time in the town centre and pick up some souvenirs or tasty Portuguese treats. Or just enjoy a cool drink by the hotel swimming pool.
