And this stunning lakeside town still retains its charm and beauty today. On our tours to Lake Garda, we’ll visit this quaint village and fishing harbour, which has preserved its original 15th Century appearance. Riva del Garda is one of the many charming towns that dot Lake Garda. Located on the northern shore, this picturesque retreat is surrounded by imposing mountains on one side and sparkling blue water on the other. While this is a great location from which to explore the lake, it is also an attraction in itself. On our trips to Lake Garda, we’ll have time to immerse ourselves in Italian culture as we stroll along the winding streets and beautiful waterfront of the town. With our expert guide, we’ll learn about the history of this region as we take in medieval archways, renaissance churches, and narrow cobbled streets.

The town of Limone is another beautiful town from which to explore the beauty and history of Lake Garda. The heart of Limone old town is centred around its beautiful little harbour, the Porto Vecchio. This area is a great place to relax and unwind with its picturesque waterfront terraces and plenty of waterfront cafés from which we can enjoy the lakeside views while sipping on a cappuccino. The quaint narrow streets around the port are filled with gorgeous boutiques and shops, and with plenty of free time, we can shop to our hearts’ content.

The jagged mountain peaks of the Dolomites overlook the northern edge of Lake Garda and many visitors to the lake choose to spend time exploring this impressive mountain range. On our holidays to Lake Garda, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the scenic town of Bolzano in southern Tyrol, known as the gateway to the Dolomites. Get up close to these stunning mountains as we take a cable car ride to the high plateau of Renon before enjoying a train ride through the mountain farms of the beautiful Dolomites.
