Your Guided Group Holiday To Lake Como
Explore Lake Como; famous for its wonderful gardens and dramatic scenery with the lake as the beautiful focal point. From our relaxing lakeside base, we’ll discover the lake’s enchanting gardens and picturesque villages. Bask in the beauty of Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta, where the gardens attached to both magnificent villas date back to the 16th century, showcasing geometrical schema, stairs and terraces, statues and fountains. We’ll explore Varenna, Como town and the famous town of Bellagio, known as 'the Pearl of the Lake'. We’ll have some free time for sightseeing, shopping, or relaxing with a fine coffee or a glass of local wine.

Upon arrival in Milan, we transfer by private coach to our hotel, situated on the shores of Lake Como.
Bellagio & Villa Melzi
Visit Bellagio & Villa Melzi Gardens
Spend the morning relaxing at leisure in your peaceful Lake Como surroundings. In the afternoon we visit Bellagio, 'The Pearl of Lake Como. Its famous cafes and restaurants provide the perfect place to soak up the lake's famous panorama. The village is characterised by century-old buildings, stone lanes and picturesque cobbled stairways, filled with shops showcasing the finest Italian wares. The tour will conclude at the beautiful Villa Melzi Gardens, designed by the architect Luigi Canonica and the botanist Luigi Villoresi.
Villa Balbianello & Varenna
Guided Excursion to Villa Balbianello & Varenna
We commence our full day excursion travelling by private boat to Villa Balbianello. Built by Cardinal Durini at the end of the 18th century; the villa rises on top of a wooded promontory. The garden is a masterpiece, built on terraces, majestic plane trees, magnolias, cypresses, wisteria and azaleas; it’s truly a classical Italianate garden. Then transfer by boat for Varenna for a visit to the Monastery garden.
Full Day Guided Excursion to the Ancient City of Como
Following breakfast at our hotel, enjoy a full day guided excursion to the ancient city of Como. The city contains numerous works of art, churches, gardens, museums, theatres, parks and palaces. The tour will include the Como Cathedral, one of the most important buildings in the region. It is commonly described as the last Gothic cathedral built in Italy and it contains a number of 16th century paintings by Bernardino Luini and Gaudenzio Ferrari. Enjoy some free time for shopping and lunch. Return to our hotel in the afternoon.
Guided Walking Tour of Villa Carlotta
Today, you will have the morning free to relax. This afternoon we will walk to the nearby villa and garden of Villa Carlotta, situated in the village of Tremezzo. The villa has one of the most beautiful gardens in the region. Planting varies from shady ferneries to elegant pergolas, smothered with the perfumed Trachelospermum jasminoides, and urns overflowing with Hibiscus and Citrus fruit. We will also visit the Museum to admire the wonderful views of Lake Como from its balconies and one of the most famous masterpieces of Antonio Canova.
Transfer from your hotel to Milan airport for your return flight to Dublin.
